I went home to Estonia for a holiday recently after
a long period of time since my last visit. My emotions are still high because
there are lots of beautiful happy people, it is a pleasure to drive on quiet
roads, the city streets are clean, there are lots of historic sites, I could
speak my own language as much as I wanted, a unique home for an old submarine
and a suitable location for modern cruise liners to visit. That is why I went
home for a holiday.
Käisin üle pika aja kodus. Imelik on öelda, et puhkusel. Kes siis kodus puhkusel käib?! Aga nii see praegu on. Emotsioonid on ikka veel laes. Palju ilusaid ja rõõmsaid inimesi, enamasti lahedalt tühjad maanteed, puhtad linnatänavad, eesti keel ja rahvas...
I loved the idea of filling an otherwise
blank gable end wall of the Estonian Literary Museum in Tartu with ‘window’
portraits of culturally important people from Tartu.
Võrratu idee kaunistada tühjana seisev sein Tartule tähtsate kultuuriinimestega aknail.
The amazing Estonian Maritime Museum located
at the old Seaplane Harbour in Tallinn. This is highly recommended and the
highlight is that you can go inside the old Estonian submarine Lembit.
Kes pole veel käinud, minge kindlasti!
The wonderful National Song and Dance Festivals are held
every five years in Tallinn and because international interest in this
celebration of Estonian culture is growing the crowds and the performers
increase each time.
Suurepärane pidu!
Ornaments are like great and small bridges linking the
cultures, peoples and nationalities and transcends all generations and
locations and captures the emotions of travellers, settlers, kings and jesters.
This exhibition highlights the diversity of meanings –
ornamental in the art and symbolic in the handicraft, it creates intrigue and
contradictions but also an opportunity for mutual understanding between the
different aspects of the activity.
Õnneliku juhuse tõttu sain teada, et põnev rahvusliku käsitöö näitus on üles pandud. Näitan oma lemmikuid, unistades kunagi murdosagi neist oma kätega valmis teha. Esimese asjana püüdsid pilku rahvarõivais nukud. No nukumeistrit minust ei saa, seega ainult imetlen.
Pitsiline kootud vaip.
Laste kleidid kirjatud detailidega.
Ja muidugi sukad ja kindad! Inspiratsiooni jätkub kauemaks!
