At first I thought I make short-row heels. When I started the heel I realised it will interrupt how the gradient colours flow on the sock. I opted for the <a href="https://www.interweave.com/article/knitting/afterthought-peasant-sock-heels/" target="_blank">Peasant Heel</a> , it will be knitted on later. I used <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWS77BKk5NQ&ab_channel=LorraineL" target="_blank">Lori's Twisted Bind-Off.</a> to finish the sock. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Now I have to examine the gradient skein and figure out how I get matching socks. Kudusin tulevase kanna kohale abilõnga, mille hiljem välja harutan ja <a href="https://www.interweave.com/article/knitting/afterthought-peasant-sock-heels/" target="_blank">Peasant Heel</a> kanna koon. This subtle pattern works up quickly and is easily memorable. I called the pattern Vurr because it goes fast and the motif reminds me of a spinning top<br />which is "vurr" in Estonian. See how far I got last night watching knitting podcasts? I think it's a unisex pattern, suitable for everyone. <p></p><p>It is a slip-stitch mosaic pattern. You work one round in one colour, next round in the other colour, slipping the stitches marked with "V" in the chart. No need to carry both yarns at the same time. Easy-peasy! I knit my socks toe-up with a short-row heel. I make the soles in the same pattern. You can use the chart and knit socks in your preferred method. The chart has 8 stitch repeat, so you have to cast on 56, 64, 72, 80 sts. The stitch pattern looks the same worked toe up or cuff down. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8xIXqWNyM0CUYqxPcNCw-FXV4C4GQ6_zIWC07QDZ9ZR3b7mJdQGlElfxe6X_kPZbk3g-GgCeqR78axq25AzUZ0E1DF1oa2XZjir0igUc3x4QxRxQK3rPFuF1PI70w3To3GVq-PWSXu_jl/s450/StarSocks.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="378" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8xIXqWNyM0CUYqxPcNCw-FXV4C4GQ6_zIWC07QDZ9ZR3b7mJdQGlElfxe6X_kPZbk3g-GgCeqR78axq25AzUZ0E1DF1oa2XZjir0igUc3x4QxRxQK3rPFuF1PI70w3To3GVq-PWSXu_jl/w168-h200/StarSocks.jpeg" width="168" /></a></div><p></p><p>Post your progress in Instagram or Facebook with hashtags #VurrSocks #ArellaSeatonDesign @ArellaSeatonDesign I would love to see your socks!</p><p>Let's knit! I believe you have seen crocheted granny square slippers? I like the look of a well-made granny square slippers. Usually, they are colourful and fun. The only thing what bothers me about crocheted slippers, they are quite open, big gaps between stitches. I decided to design slippers with the same construction but using mosaic knit squares. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Six squares are needed for each slipper. I designed six different motifs each can be made in inverted colours also. I had so much fun with motifs, couldn't stop drawing new ones! Next time I make the slippers, I might use more colours too.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The slippers can be made to fit most feet. You need to swatch to get the size you need. The size of the slipper is determined by the size of the squares made. The size of the square depends on the gauge of your knitting. Sizing information is given in the pattern. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The squares are quick and fun to make. Sew the squares together for a charming pair of slippers to keep your toes warm and cosy.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc-DMXFJ13GncFcUfXL2hxmCcUm_75_-X_zexDOJLcJmYsULePNTi9BwHRzm9ea73pBNHP-5NAKoLVIshKhOBbWwQTjSugXhLzs6x1Z9yahJ-mbIgduDsuZ2MHOX7CZFi5HEwRpPnCoLT3/s2048/IMG_20201219_112215.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc-DMXFJ13GncFcUfXL2hxmCcUm_75_-X_zexDOJLcJmYsULePNTi9BwHRzm9ea73pBNHP-5NAKoLVIshKhOBbWwQTjSugXhLzs6x1Z9yahJ-mbIgduDsuZ2MHOX7CZFi5HEwRpPnCoLT3/w400-h400/IMG_20201219_112215.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Selle aasta esimene muster, Mamma sussid, on inspireeritud heegeldatud vanaema-ruudu sussidest. Mamma sussid kasutavad sama konstruktiooni, kuid ruurdud on hoopis kootud mosaiiktehnikas.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Iga sussi jaoks läheb vaja kuut ruutu. Joonistasin kuus erinevat motiivi. Nii tore oli mängida mustritega! Järgmine kord ehk koon värvikirevad sussid, iga ruut ise värvi. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Sussi suurus sõltub ruudu suurusest. Suurusmõõtude tabel on mustris antud. Koo proovilapp ja muuda vajadusel varda suurust, et saada õige suurusega sussid.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Ruudukeste kudumine läheb kiirelt. This year was different, inspiration hit me hard. I have not just one but four Xmas stocking patterns coming over the next couple of weeks! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Do you love colourful patterned Christmas Stockings but are intimidated by stranded colourwork? Mosaic knitting is the solution! It is a fun and easy way of knitting with two colours to create a colourwork pattern which looks much more complicated than it is. The beauty of mosaic knitting is that it only uses one of the yarns at a time, while the other waits at the beginning of the round.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">The first pattern of the Holly Jolly Xmas eBook, Christmas Stocking Yks (photo below) will be released tomorrow, November 15th, on Ravelry and Payhip/ArellaSeatonDesign. <p>
Can't believe it's nearly three months since the last post here! I wish there was a software to turn my thoughts to a blog post. Sometimes when I am out walking I write long posts in my head! Unfortunately, I never get around to write them down. </p><p>So, what I have been doing? I've released several patterns. I try to release one-two patterns per month. I don't have a schedule. When I get an idea, I go from there. Here are three recent patterns: Dark Honey blanket, All Webbed Up cowl and ABC Book. They are not new designs for me all these have submitted and approved for publishing in different magazines. The Dark Honey and All Webbed Up were supposed to be published in the YarnPeople magazine. I made the samples, posted to them for photography and wrote the pattern. Due to the Covid situation, they decided on hiatus and my patterns were never published. I decided to make new samples because I didn't have any good photos of them. I'm happy with the designs. I wasn't very sure about the spider cowl but people like it, it's quirky and different.</p><p><span data-preserver-spaces="true" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; color: #0e101a; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">The ABC Book you've seen before, I posted about the book </span><a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://draft.blogger.com/blog/post/edit/5575245450770785844/2575342951619700526#" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; color: #4a6ee0; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;" target="_blank"><span data-preserver-spaces="true" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">here</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true" style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; color: #0e101a; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">. The rights are reverted to me and I am free to self-publish the pattern. I made a new sample in brighter colours, added a front and back cover. The binding has changed to make it more secure for those little fingers browsing the book. The mosaic pattern is charted and written out. </span></p><p>So, what to expect next? I am working on Christmas Stocking pattern, in a mosaic of course. There might be even more than one pattern. Other things I'm working on are mosaic slippers and a sweater. Mosaic slippers pattern was my very first pattern in Ravelry, released eight years ago. It's time to update it, add more sizes and bring up to my current standards. The sweater, I'm working on, going to be a basic long-sleeved sweater with an intricate mosaic on the body. I have made one sample already. I need to write down the pattern but I want to make another sample also. We'll see, how it works out!</p><p><br /><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY1Zeig4OP8lD_UaiIW9N-gdAfBi4DOgs738CW-jZKU4c51EUZ41yoy9VAJ_DO7dFb2iuplcmQfrqGU9z4O5Y1N1pmaLGY5oHwg6LeZciXYFQhzL_ezirRjeSyiIWNlHVxhiRHV9PmSc1I/s2048/IMG_20201005_194907%257E2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2047" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY1Zeig4OP8lD_UaiIW9N-gdAfBi4DOgs738CW-jZKU4c51EUZ41yoy9VAJ_DO7dFb2iuplcmQfrqGU9z4O5Y1N1pmaLGY5oHwg6LeZciXYFQhzL_ezirRjeSyiIWNlHVxhiRHV9PmSc1I/s320/IMG_20201005_194907%257E2.jpg" width="320" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">All Webbed Up Cowl</td></tr></tbody></table><br />Uskumatu, et kolm kuud juba möödas viimasest postitusest! </p><p>Kolm uut mustrit on lisandunud. Kõik need mustrid olid heaks kiidetud avaldamiseks ajakirjades, kuid Covid'i tõttu jõudis trükivalgust näha ainult üks, ABC raamat, millest kirjutasin <a href="https://www.craftarella.eu/2020/06/knitted-soft-book-kootud-pehme-raamat.html" target="_blank">siin</a>. Nüüd on mul õigus muster iseseisvalt avaldada. A nagu Aabits, B Banaan, D Diivan? Hmm, ei ole just huvitavad pildid.</p><p>Ämblikuga kaelus ja meekärjega tekike pidid ilmuma YarnPeople ajakirjas, kuid nad katkestasid avaldamise pandeemia tõttu. Ämbiku kaelust kudusime koos <a href="https://www.mustrimaailm.net/" target="_blank">Mustrimaailma</a> foorumis. Ma ise polnud kindel, kuidas selline disain meeldib, kuid see on hea vastuvõtu leidnud! Muuseas, uus salakudumine tuleb foorumis varsti, liitu ka!</p><p>Uutest tegemistest on käsil mosaiik susside mustri uuendamine. Jajah, see on see vana muster, mis oli mu esimene muster Ravelrys juba kaheksa aastat tagasi! Suurema tööna on käsil kampsuni muster, aga sellest räägime teine kord.</p><p><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXXS93rAm4ZB-IS2MC2c3lnE3ih7Wp9Xba6dXHBsC4L4iP21Zt5pKEcy9J2cHvmh7v8zx0RLFQiPRNL8IkTFoVnDCkKIfH56BBuIO6d-1Q2HqmPIBytdbNYGXyuTpbj_YNz02QRrjvFVgn/s2048/IMG_20200921_170132.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXXS93rAm4ZB-IS2MC2c3lnE3ih7Wp9Xba6dXHBsC4L4iP21Zt5pKEcy9J2cHvmh7v8zx0RLFQiPRNL8IkTFoVnDCkKIfH56BBuIO6d-1Q2HqmPIBytdbNYGXyuTpbj_YNz02QRrjvFVgn/w300-h400/IMG_20200921_170132.jpg" width="300" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Dark Honey Blanket<br /><br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /> </p>Arellahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04844625867400920962noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5575245450770785844.post-32915999685769761702020-08-29T17:49:00.001+01:002020-11-17T11:08:57.364+00:00Linnutee Top Pattern.<p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRMgWM6kc4JAfcyaRgU4gQAe4xd3qW0psolRlqU5NpJgyYUacywfKiNwhhyphenhyphens_NTyAmFzcAq7r1TgujpC6drEauG2ApOS3lDkKFjX7XobbjOAJvshoJeeamuvKVgv3_SE25Hkxtao2jJVMX/s1936/IMG_20200602_160240.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1935" data-original-width="1936" height="210" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRMgWM6kc4JAfcyaRgU4gQAe4xd3qW0psolRlqU5NpJgyYUacywfKiNwhhyphenhyphens_NTyAmFzcAq7r1TgujpC6drEauG2ApOS3lDkKFjX7XobbjOAJvshoJeeamuvKVgv3_SE25Hkxtao2jJVMX/w210-h210/IMG_20200602_160240.jpg" width="210" /></a></div>When you get together with a yarny friend you visit a yarn store, right? I usually buy at least a skein to support a small business, what the yarn stores often are. These gradient yarn cakes are so pretty! My friend helped me to choose the colour. At first, I didn't have a clear idea of what I'm going to make. I didn't want a shawl but 600 meters of fingering weight yarn isn't enough for a shirt in my size. I chose a solid contrasting colour and cast on. <br /><br />So I had this gorgeous gradient yarn cake and I wanted to make a sleeveless top. I didn't want to interrupt the flow of the gradient colours. The best way seemed to be knitting in rounds without short-row shaping. Wide-open ballet neckline looks nice for a summery shirt. <div><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHLJVASdrLrVpqO1Aa4xm1vYbS9YC-gLX6ccmEGUxxbN723bjdLS53YxvjKUzps9tUjQxH9gVV3MMGjP3HSoOHAqyPyCiwHU6M18zS0QlGMefOFguEotwk0uSUvfz9pzoO5c90MqCQrwL9/s4618/IMG_20200607_150246.jpg" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3464" data-original-width="4618" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHLJVASdrLrVpqO1Aa4xm1vYbS9YC-gLX6ccmEGUxxbN723bjdLS53YxvjKUzps9tUjQxH9gVV3MMGjP3HSoOHAqyPyCiwHU6M18zS0QlGMefOFguEotwk0uSUvfz9pzoO5c90MqCQrwL9/w328-h246/IMG_20200607_150246.jpg" width="328" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr></tbody></table>I'm obsessed with mosaic knitting. I designed a little bird motif for the <a href="https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/loojangulinnud/">#Loojangulinnud</a> shawl and wanted to use it again. It’s exciting to knit with gradient yarn and see colours slowly emerging and changing. <br /><br />Mosaic knitting is an easy way to create striking colourwork. Mosaic knitting is perfect for beginners who are attempting colourwork for the first time. Just knit and slip stitches, one colour at the time. No need to carry both yarns. <br /><br />The shirt is worked from top down, starting with I-cord cast-on. The ribbing on armholes and at the bottom is finished with I-cord also. It makes a nice and firm finish which does not stretch out. <br /><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDqStoCY62XoDC2Cwk-fqR4dEgStW_n3fJ8L2JSHZAp0DFveW19qAvjvvp-L5uzhiPz1BzEIXAfZG6dS-8HPNhokXlf-I0sI__pJqs-Gg9L2yZwEnQA-fyjih0-xomTle55lpA9LMC-tk7/s2048/IMG_20200621_120326.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDqStoCY62XoDC2Cwk-fqR4dEgStW_n3fJ8L2JSHZAp0DFveW19qAvjvvp-L5uzhiPz1BzEIXAfZG6dS-8HPNhokXlf-I0sI__pJqs-Gg9L2yZwEnQA-fyjih0-xomTle55lpA9LMC-tk7/w384-h512/IMG_20200621_120326.jpg" width="384" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><strong style="background-color: white; text-align: start;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The introductory discount of 25% off (coupon code: Linnutee) until midnight, Thursday, September 3rd (UK time zone) in <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/linnutee" target="_blank">Ravelry</a></span></strong></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-family: inherit;">OR</span></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; text-align: start;"><b><span style="font-family: inherit;">The introductory discount of 50% off (coupon code: Milkyway) until Monday, August 31 (UK time zone) in <a href="https://payhip.com/b/jBp7" target="_blank">Payhip.com/ArellaSeatonDesign</a></span></b></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk2KpJGN7F6fQxyHN6K5TQZr16ULhO5dGGRVOVgtMuskDQp8NX2iL3HmCKhnVDPfow_CK_gMcvxYm1nuMlOWaqHuLVs7GsQWmzxSZMXqW6Tsl6xRGKUmHCBa5u2H-CIcblmSvZO2VtiV3k/s2048/2020-07-17+14.52.07a.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="512" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgk2KpJGN7F6fQxyHN6K5TQZr16ULhO5dGGRVOVgtMuskDQp8NX2iL3HmCKhnVDPfow_CK_gMcvxYm1nuMlOWaqHuLVs7GsQWmzxSZMXqW6Tsl6xRGKUmHCBa5u2H-CIcblmSvZO2VtiV3k/w512-h512/2020-07-17+14.52.07a.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">See imelise värvivahetusega lõngakera tuli koju lihtsalt sellepärast, et oli nii ilus! The Südasuvine (Estonian for Midsummery) shawl is worked in one piece from the bottom up. Cleverly placed increases on both sides and in the body of the shawl create a triangular shawl with elongated points, cosy to wrap yourself in. The tip is quite narrow and at first, it looks like the wingspan isn't going to be wide enough. <br />
I rarely use cookery books nor have I a notebook for recipes. I cook quite simple food or improvise something. However, if I come across an interesting recipe by chance I might try it out and it might become a new favourite. I've been posting about cookery from time to time. My blog is my recipe book!<br />
<br />
I found this Chorizo and Chickpea Stew recipe in the Times newspaper nearly two years ago. I took a photo of the recipe. Whenever I want to cook the stew I'll find that photo on my phone.<br />
<br />
I love the stew! Often I soak and cook chickpeas instead of using canned ones. When buying chorizo look for cooking chorizo, it has less fat but it might depend on where you buy.<br />
<br />
Serves 4<br />
Ingredients:<br />
A splash of vegetable oil<br />
400g cooking chorizo, sliced into 1 cm chunks<br />
2 onions, finely diced<br />
A long red pepper, seeded and chopped into small chunks<br />
A clove of garlic, crushed<br />
2 tsp sweet or hot smoked paprika<br />
2*400g cans of chopped tomatoes (or passata it you prefer a smoother sauce)<br />
2x 400g cans of chickpeas, drained and rinsed<br />
Salt and freshly ground black pepper<br />
To serve A handful of fresh coriander, roughly chopped<br />
Crusty bread or toast (optional)<br />
<br />
Method: 1. Place a large, wide, high-sided pan with a lid over a medium heat and add a tiny splash of cooking oil – the sausage will release plenty of fat, so you barely need any. Add the chorizo and brown thoroughly all over, until really well caramelised. Work in batches if necessary, to avoid crowding the pan and stewing the meat. Remove and set aside, leaving the red fat behind in the pan.<br />
<br />
2. Add the onions and red pepper and sauté for about 10 min, until soft. Next add the garlic and paprika and cook, while stirring, for a minute or two. Add the tomatoes and enough hot water to loosen the stew so that it doesn't dry out during cooking. Bring to a simmer, cover partially with a lid.<br />
Then turn the heat down and let it bubble for 15 min.<br />
<br />
3. Add the chickpeas to the pan along with the cooked chorizo, stir and heat through. Serve topped with the coriander, and with a hunk of the bread or toast for mopping up the sauce.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Ma eriti ei kasuta kokaraamatuid ega ole mul retseptide märkmikku. Ma valmistan üsna lihtsat toitu või improviseerin midagi. Vahel leian juhuslikult mõne retsepti, mida tahaks proovida. Juhtub, et sellest saab uus lemmik. Olen aeg-ajalt oma retsepte siia blogisse postitanud. Minu ajaveeb on minu retseptiraamat! Siit on mul vajadusel lihtne leida.</i></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<i>Selle Chorizo ja Chickpea Stew retsepti leidsin ajalehest Times peaaegu kaks aastat tagasi. Tegin retseptist foto.
<i><br /></i>
<i>Ma armastan seda ühepajatoitu! Retseptis on antud konserv kikerherned, kuid tihti ma leotan ja keedan kuivatatud kikerherneid. Chorizo otsimisel tuleks valida toiduvalmistamiseks mõeldud chorizo, selles on vähem rasva, kuid see võib sõltuda sellest, kust ostate.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Toidust jagub neljale. Meie sööme kahekesi kaks päeva :)</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Koostis:</i><br />
<i>Veidi taimeõli</i><br />
<i>400 g chorizo, viilutatud 1 cm tükkideks</i><br />
<i>2 sibulat, peeneks hakitud</i><br />
<i>(Pikk või tavaline) punane paprika, tükeldatud väikesteks tükkideks</i><br />
<i>Küüslauguküüs, purustatud</i><br />
<i>2 tl magusat või kuumsuitsu jahvatatud paprikat</i><br />
<i>2x 400g purki hakitud tomateid (või passata, eelistate ühtlasemat kastet)</i><br />
<i>2x 400g purki kikerherneid, nõrutatud ja loputatud</i><br />
<i>Sool ja värskelt jahvatatud must pipar</i><br />
<i>Serveerimiseks: Peotäis värsket koriandrit, jämedalt hakitud</i><br />
<i>Krõbe leib või röstsai (valikuline)</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Meetod: 1. Eemalda vorst pannilt ja aseta kõrvale, jättes punase rasva pannile.</i><br />
<br />
<i>2. Kuumuta keema, kata osaliselt kaanega.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Seejärel keera kuumus maha ja lase toidul 15 minutit haududa.</i><br />
<br />
<i>3. Lisa pannile kikerherned koos praetud chorizoga, sega ja kuumuta läbi. </i><br />
<i>Serveeri koriandri ja röstsaiaga kastme riibumiseks taldrikult.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Head isu!</i><br />

<br /></div>
I have been busy with mosaic knitting and charting new designs. Today I released the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/breakfast-at-tiffanys-8">Breakfast at Tiffany's </a>placemat and coaster set pattern. There is going to be another set with a similar mosaic pattern soon. I know my placemats will be used every day. The previous set, <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/come-dine-with-me">Come Dine with Me</a>, which I made last year, has been in use since then and still looks good. <br /> <br />What else is on my needles? The most exciting new item is a summer top with mosaic yoke. It's my first ever garment pattern. I have made garments for myself and my daughter but never graded a pattern in several sizes. I've learnt so much in this process! The pattern is on my tech editor's table right now. <br /> <br />Another project I'm working on is a mosaic blanket (again, I know!). It's worked all in one piece, quite big and heavy. I manage to knit just some rows now and then. I hope it will be finished by August. Some swatches can be seen on the last photo below.<br /> <br />Sharing your projects made from my patterns on social media please tag me @arellaseatondesign <div>
I would love to see your projects and don't want to miss any of them!<br /> <br />I am happy to offer you the introductory discount of 25% off (coupon code: Tiffany) until midnight, Tuesday, July 14 (UK time zone) at the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/redeem/arella-seaton-design?code=Tiffany">Breakfast at Tiffany's pattern</a>.<br />Thank you for purchasing my pattern!</div>
<div>
<br />The pattern will be added to my <a href="https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/user/maker/d2900d4e-3b88-43c3-a2f4-07955620c9c5">LoveCrafts</a> store shortly. <br />I know some of you having problems with Ravelry. I will look for other options for opening a pattern store and I'll let you know when it's available.<br /> <br />If you like the pattern, please consider adding it to your favourites or leaving a comment on the pattern page. Thank you!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Minu varrastelt tuleb ikka ja jälle mosaiik tehnikas kudumeid. Täna näeb ilmavalgust uus lauakatete komplekt, <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/breakfast-at-tiffanys-8">Breakfast at Tiffany's</a>. Muster on soodushinnaga -25% kuni 14. juulini, kood: Tiffany. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Mosaiigi teema jätkub. Hiljuti sain varrastelt maha oma esimese pluusi, ümara mosaiik-koes passega.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Ma pole ju varem kirjutanud rõivaesemete mustreid paljudes suurustes. Õpin kogu elu, mis muud!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Mosaiik-koes tekk on ka varrastel. See on kootud ühes tükis, suur ja raske. Igal õhtul üritan ikka mõne rea kududa, kui just ilm liiga palav pole. Proovilappi saab piiluda alumisel fotol.</div>

Blogi vajaks ka kaasajastamist. Vähemalt päise vahetasin välja. Kas märkasid?</div>

<i>I like to go for a walk most days. Sometimes I take a water bottle with me. I have broken one already, just slipped from my hand and fell in million pieces despite it was a plastic bottle. Another thing is, the water gets hot when I keep the bottle in my hand. It would be easy to get a bottle holder online for couple of pounds but where is the fun there? Why I should get something cheaply made in China when I can make one what I really like? </i></div>

<i>Last year, before designing the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/white-star">White Star Blanket</a>, I knitted a lot of mosaic swatches, using leftover wool. Wool is good for insulation, right? I decided to felt swatches and make a bag. 100% natural wool is good for felting. I put the squares in a washing machine, short 30 minutes cycle in 40 degrees C, no detergent. The squares were slightly felted. I ran another cycle. Now the swatches were beautifully felted. </i></div>

Eelmisel aastal kudusin hulga mosaiikkoes proovilappe enne, kui asusin <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/white-star">White Star</a> tekki kuduma. Kasutasin igasuguseid villase lõnga jääke. Vill on ju hea isolatsioonimaterjal? Otsustasin proovilapid ära viltida ja kasutada neid koti tegemiseks. Viskasin nad pesumasinasse, ilma pesuvahendita, lühike 30 minutine tsükkel, 40 kraadi. Lapid vildistusid veidi. Lasin nad veel teist korda samamoodi masinast läbi. Seekord tulid välja ilusasti vilditud lapid.</div>

Nüüd oli käes aeg natuke õmmelda. Voltisin ühe ruudu pooleks, sellest moodustus tasku mobiili või päikeseprillide jaoks. Koti põhi sai tehtud mööbliriide jäägist, üle-õla-rihmaks on nöör. Võibolla vahetan nööri välja, kui sobivama rihma leian. Tulemusega olen igatahes rahul!</div>

<i>As you might know, I've been self-publishing knitting patterns for years. I have several patterns published in E-magazines also, which is great! Yesterday I had my first pattern published in a printed magazine, Your Crochet and Knitting, issue 18. It's an amazing feeling, open the magazine and find my pattern among others. The magazine is full of interesting patterns! I love that cushion with a bird on the front cover and tiny garden birds. The magazine comes with a yarn pack, knitting needles and crochet hook included, so one could cast on straight away. I think is a great idea, especially on times like we have now with the lockdown. </i></div>

<i>The pattern I proposed and was accepted for publishing is a soft baby-book. It contains eight colourwork charts, the letters A, B, C, D and pictures of an Apple, Boat, Cat and Duck. The squares are worked in mosaic knitting technique, directions given in the magazine. Ever so often I hear, oh, mosaic, never tried it, sounds too complicated. Afraid not, it is actually very easy, suitable for beginners. If you know a knit stitch and slip stitch, that's all you need! </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>I have been designing mosaic motifs for over a year. I've used them for the White Star blanket, cushions, washcloths, coasters. Still, I didn't have a good idea for kids items. I started to think, what do I use them for? Washcloth? Baby blanket? I asked for ideas in a Facebook group. One of the suggestions was a soft book. And here it is! Enjoy!</i></div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Alustasin mosaiik-koes motiivide disainimisega üle aasta tagasi. See on lõbus tegevus! Hulga lastepäraseid motiive on jäänud siiani kasutamata.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Pakkusin ideed ajakirjale Your Crochet and Knitting, see osutus valituks, ning nii see raamat sündis!</div>

<i>When I first published the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/through-the-daisies-cuff-down-socks">Through the Daisies</a> sock pattern, it had a different cuff pattern, inspired by flower petals. The sock pattern has been loved since, just the cuff wasn't everyones taste. Someone commented, it looked like screwdrivers! Several people changed the cuff. I decided to add another option, a new cuff chart. I used Drops Nord Pearl-grey and Drops Fabel Sunset yarn. I love how a self-striping sock yarn creates striking colourwork easily. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Currently, just the Through the Daisies Cuff Down has the new chart. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>I will updated the toe-up version (Tiptoe Through the Daisies) later in the year. </i></div>

Mäletate veel seda sokimustrit? Muster nägi ilmavalgust kaks ja pool aastat tagasi. Siis oli teistsugune muster sokisäärel. Paljud muutsid sääremustrit oma maitsekohaseks. Egas see just ilusaim muster polnud, kuid tol hetkel oli see minu valik. Nüüd tekkis idee uue ja aeg uue säärmustri lisamiseks. Praegusel momendil sai uue sääre ainult ülalt alla kootud mustrivariant. </div>

<i>The third pattern from the Sock Doodles series is released on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hearty-steps">Ravelry</a> and going to be available on LoveCrafts shortly. For this Hearty Steps socks, I used less than 50 grams of self-striping sock yarn, Drops Fabel in Sunset colourway, and some solid leftover yarns. The heart pattern was created by slipping the stitches when working two rows in one colour, two rows in another colour. No need to carry both yarns same time! Easy-peasy!</i></div>

Kolmas muster mosaiik sokimustrite peres on Hearty Steps. Seekord kasutasin isetriibutavat sokilõnga Drops Fabel koos ühevärviliste lõngajääkidega. Kaks rida on kootud ühe lõngaga, kaks teisega, samal ajal moodustub südamemuster kudumata üle tõstetud silmustest. Nii lihtne see ongi, pole mingit kahe lõngaga korraga mässamist! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<i>Next up is a new test knitting, the intarsia blanket/afghan. I've shown it before as a MKAL project. This time I opened the test knitting in English. If you are interested in testing the pattern, please join in <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/arella-seaton-design/4034933/">HERE.</a></i></div>
<br /><i>The Elly’s afghan/blanket was inspired by abstract geometric art. I find geometric abstraction very eyecatching and as a knitter, very knittable. After examing several paintings, I started to experiment with shapes and figuring out the movement of the lines, before I came up with my design.<br /><br />Also, the pattern can be used for making a wall hanging instead of a blanket. Why not use finer yarn and different fibre, like cotton or acrylic for smaller wall decoration?<br /><br />Working in intarsia is fairly easy for an advanced beginner who is comfortable with the basic knit and purl stitches. You just have to be careful and organized working from 7-9 skeins simulatneously.</i><br />

Salakudumised edenevad & Uus muster.<i>The Mystery Knit-a-long on Mustrimaailm forum is going strong. Sunray was the fastest, she has finished already. She made some modifications in the pattern and used more colours. Look at this great result! It's a work of art! I'm still working on the English pattern.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
Mustrimaailma salakudumine edeneb hoogsalt, kui just aiatööd vahele ei trügi. Sunray oli kiireim, tal juba tekk, koos väikeste muudatustega, valmis. Vaata ja imetle kunstiteost!<br />

<i>I've been so busy organizing test knits, Mystery KAL's and pattern releases. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>The latest pattern release was <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/loojangulinnud">Loojangulinnud shawl</a>. It's a mosaic pattern, knit in bias. I love the birds motifs in mosaic. It's the third design with birds, all of them different. I'm quite sure there is going to be more birds, so versatile, graphic motif.</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
See on juba kolmas disain, kus kasutan mosaiik-koes linnumotiivi. Arvan, et see ei jää viimaseks.</div>

<i>Just noticed I haven't mentioned here about the second MKAL, mosaic socks. Silver Rhombi sock pattern is currently tested in Ravelry in English. The Estonian version is used for another MKAL on Mustrimaailm forum. Have a look at some samples from the MKAL:</i></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>The Silver Rhombi pattern is going to be released in the end of May or at the beginning of June. Before that the Hearty Steps sock pattern will be released. All patterns are/will be available as individual downloads on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/designers/arella-seaton">Ravelry</a> and <a href="https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/user/maker/d2900d4e-3b88-43c3-a2f4-07955620c9c5">LoveCrafts</a>. Intarsia salakudumine edeneb hoogsalt.At the beginning of April, I started a <a href="https://www.craftarella.eu/2020/04/new-mkal-in-estonian-knitting-forum.html">Mystery knit-a-long</a>. It's going to be a small blanket knitted in intarsia technique. Here are some progress photos from participants. I love them all, so creative! Each one of them has it's own character and charm.<br />
<div>
I'm going to write the pattern in English soon.<br />

Despite I finished knitting all four samples of the Sock Doodles I still have plenty of work to do.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first two patterns from the Sock Doodles Ebook are released, the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/doodles-5">Doodles</a> and the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/scribbles">Scribbles</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Why it's called doodles? Because I've been doodling with mosaic knit patterns, slip-stitches and leftover yarns. </div>

The third pattern, Hearty Steps, is in test knitting in my <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/groups/arella-seaton-design">Ravelry group</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The fourth pattern is still a secret. I started a mystery knit-a-long in the <a href="https://www.mustrimaailm.net/t3037-vip-sokisalakas-2020-isolatsioonikevad">Mustrimaailm</a> forum and reveal the pattern step by step. </div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>

<i>How are you coping with these uncertain and worrying times? I'm social-distancing. I try to find slots for home deliveries and avoid shopping, going out just for a walk once a day. Walking is still allowed in England. Luckily I don't need to go to work or home-schooling the kids. I'm quite content staying in with my freshly-baked muffins, coffee and knitting. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>I've taken a break from mosaic knitting and working on an intarsia throw. Long-time readers might remember seeing something similar from years ago. I try to keep things in secret for now because I run a Mystery Knit-a-long in an Estonian knitting forum for this pattern. I look forward to seeing what colours will be chosen and how they manage knitting the throw. The most complicated thing about this project is managing the yarns. There are rather large areas worked in the same colour. I prefer knitting straight from the skeins, not bobbins. Juggling 6-9 colours per row might get bit messy, need to be careful. </i></div>

<br />
Sasipusade teke on väga tõenäoline!<br />

<i>I finished a mosaic knit shawl some weeks ago. The pattern is ready for test knitting very soon, hopefully, next week.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Täna räägin, mis hiljuti valminud, mis töös.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Mõni nädal tagasi sai valmis mosaiik koes sall, mida saab piiluda ülalt teisel fotol. See on kootud sokilõngast, mitmevärviline, diagonaalis. Rohkem infot tuleb õige varsti, kui testkudumise välja kuulutan. Parim viis uute testidega kursis olekuks on liituda Ravelry's mu testkudujate nimekirjaga. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Sallist jäi lõnga üle. Kasutan neid jääke uue sokimustrite seeria loomiseks. Päris lõbus on! Näiteks see sokipoolik ülaloleval fotol läks harutamisele. Uus algus on palju parem.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Selline on lühike ülevaade käsilolevatest kudumitest.</div>

<i><br /></i></div>
<i>I've been recently working with different types of yarns to try them out. I made a project in a "blown" yarn, where the fibres are blown in a tube. It makes the yarn so light and warm, very nice to work with. I can't show the project yet though. </i><br />
<div>
<i>Next, I wanted to try a chain-type yarn. I picked three colours of Drops Sky, which is super soft, light and luxurious due to the tube-like chainette structure. I designed a fun mosaic pattern for a cowl. This pattern has quite a long floats on the wrong side, need to take care and leave them loose enough to keep the work from puckering. The cowl is worked as a tube, so all the floats are hidden inside and wouldn't disturb you at all. Mosaic knitting is a good beginners colorwork project as just one of the colours is worked per round. Make a perfect "unisex" winter accessory in no time at all! </i><br />
<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">The Snow Fence cowl or scarf is a double-layered, warm and cozy winter accessory, protecting you against Arctic winds and snowstorms. You can work a cowl, moebius cowl or a scarf following this pattern. All the versions are knitted in rounds in mosaic stockinette stitch, creating a long tube. Three colours of yarn were used, swapping one out after each repeat. However, the cowl or scarf can be made using just two colours.</span></blockquote>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Muster on kootud mosaiik-koes, seega korraga on töös ainult üks värv. Mustri nimeks on Snow Fence, vabas tõlkes Lumetõke. Sel aastal peaks vist hoopis ümber nimetama Tuule- või Tormitõkkeks?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>On this Christmas Day I'm happy to introduce a new pattern, the Mill Star mosaic knit cushion cover. The pattern comes in two sizes or adjust the needle size in order to get the size you need for your cushions. You have never knitted mosaic before? Not to worry! It's one of the easiest colorwork techniques, suitable for beginners. You work just one strand of yarn at time, knitting and slipping the stitches following the colored chart. </i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>The pattern is available on Ravelry <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/arella-seaton-design/573735"><img border="0" src="https://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></i></div>

<i>Introductory discount: <br />40% off (coupon code: Millstar40) until midnight, Thursday, December 26 (UK time). <br />30% off (coupon code: Millstar30) until midnight, Saturday, December 28 (UK time). <br />20% off (coupon code: Millstar20) until midnight, Tuesday, December 31 (UK time).</i><div>

<i>Cushion cover is a good little introduction to the technique before tackling a bigger project, the blanket! <div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Mul on hea meel esitleda uut mosaiik mustrit, Mill Star padjakatted. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Kuigi muster tundub keerukas, pole tarvis karta, mosaiik on üks lihtsamaid kirjatud kudesid. Kootakse ainult ühe lõngaga korraga, ei pea kahte lõnga käes hoidma, ning kasutatud on ainult parempidiseid silmuseid ja kudumata teisele vardale tõstetud silmuseid. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Muster on nüüd saadaval Ravelrys <a href="http://www.ravelry.com/purchase/arella-seaton-design/573735"><img border="0" src="https://www.ravelry.com/images/shopping/buy-now.gif" /></a></div>

Padjakate on hea väike kudum, et harjutada mosaiik kudumist enne, kui teki tegemine ette võtta. </div>
<div>
Ühine kooskudumisega <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/arella-seaton-design/3989708/1-25">mu Ravelry grupis SIIN</a> . Kui postitad pildi valmis padjakattest enne jaanuari lõppu, saad tekimustri tasuta!</div>

It's my fourth time to be a participating designer in the <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/groups/indie-design-gift-a-long">Indie Design Gift-a-long on Ravelry</a>. <div style="text-align: left;">
Juba neljandat korda on mul au olla osaline suures Indie kudumise/heegeldamise disainerite ürituses nimega <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/groups/indie-design-gift-a-long">Indie Design Gift-A-Long</a> ehl GAL Ravelrys. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Kõik soodushinnaga mustrid on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/bundles/gift-a-long-2019-sale-bundle">SIIN</a>. Kasuta otsingut "advanced search", et leida omale vajalik muster.<br />
Minu kingitus sulle ehk minu soodushinnaga mustrid on <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/bundles/gift-a-long-2019-64">SIIN</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
GAL lõpeb 31. dets südaööl suure kingitustesajuga! Ainus mure, et see on US EST aja järgi, mis on 7 tundi taga Eesti ajast.<br />
<br />
Ühine tuhandete kudujate/heegeldajatega!<br />
<br />
PS. Kui oled mõnd minu mustrit kudunud (testinud, Isetegijas või Mustrimaailmas koos kudunud), võid nendega osaleda. Anna teada, kui vaja, lisan mustri sinu Ravelry raamatukokku.<br />
