I knitted a cardigan for my daughter; the pattern is Winter Fantasy by Drops Design and the yarn is Drops Alpaca. I did not add glitter and made quite a few changes whilst knitting it up. At first I chose tonal colours instead of contrasting. Unfortunately photos don't do it justice at all and I could just not get the colours right. In real life, the pattern of the yoke is more visible. The other change I made was knitting the cardigan from the top-down, starting from the neck. Despite trying to keep the yarn very loose knitting the two-coloured pattern I still had to adjust it later as the loose yarn between single contrasting coloured stitches was pulling. Bear in mind to keep it really-really loose and stretch the knit in every direction to make sure it stretches well and is not pulling.
My
tip when knitting back and forth on long cable needles - attach stoppers on the
cable to prevent the item sliding back. It's easier to knit this way. I used
erasers as stoppers and they work really well. My project in Ravelry.
Kudusin tütrele kampsuni Dropsi Talvefantaasia mustrit aluseks võttes.Muutsin seejuures küllalt palju, sest kudusin ülalt alla õmblusteta. Lõng on Drops Alpaca, glitterit ei lisanud. Kontrastsete värvide asemel valisin tonaalsed. Fotodel on värv küll täisa vale, no ei oska õigeid toone sättida. Muuseas, veebipoest lõnga tellides tundusid ka toonid veidi teised. Seda mustrit kududes tuleb lõngajooksud ikka väga lõdvad hoida, eriti just neil ridadel, kus on üksikud silmused teist värvi.
Nööpe sai kahjuks vähe, sest poes polnud meeles, palju vaja ja lõpetamisega läks kiireks.
Lisan ühe nipi: pikkadel ringvarrastel edasi-tagasi kududes kipub kudum liiga kaugele tagasi libisema. Selle vältimiseks panin kaablile stopperid (kasutasin kustutuskumme), on kergem kududa, ei pea nii palju kudumit edasi vedama. Ülalpool on väikesel fotol näha ka.
